The founder, Adi Dassler, began the Adidas company with the vision to provide every athlete with specialized equipment for their sport. For every major sporting event he came up with a product innovation.  This began with the German soccer team winning the world cup in 1954 wearing Adidas spikes, and will continue to the future with new Adidas products designed for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.  The Adidas Company carries with it a commitment to being the best and challenging performance technology.

Adidas has a total of 25 000 employees worldwide. 2 000 of these make up a team of designers, product developers and experts for biomechanics and material technology based at their headquarters in Germany.  In addition to the sporting apparel, at the headquarters Adidas have developed a range of high performance Adidas watches for children, men and women.
