Akteo Watch Collections
Founded in France in 1993, the Akteo watches were introduced to the US in 1994
by the Universal Watch Company by the president Ralph Cohen. The Akteo
designer, Jean-Christophe Mareschal, created a range consisting of 180 styles.
The inspiration for his designs came from a variety of artistic influences
including artists such as Picasso, the environment and architecture.
Each
Akteo watch is unique and personal to a theme, telling a tale through the
combination of artistic elements and technical constructions. For example the
Akteo sports watches utilize miniature golf club and tennis rackets as the
mechanisms for showing hours and seconds, or the spokes of a bicycle wheel to
dissect the watch face into the 12 segments. In the Akteo professional range,
the watch faces are artistically designed to reflect individual professions such
as butchery, chemistry, flying, administration or bar tending. The other Akteo
watch collections features similar combinations to elicit a unique timepiece.
Prices of Akteo watches average at around US$200.
