When
you hear about Alain Silberstein you hear about an artist and a designer.
Unlike many international brands which have huge factories and development teams
replicating thousands of watches a week, Alain Silberstein is a niche watch
designer. With just a small team, Silberstein creates a limited number of
individually designed watches each year from his base in France. Continues below...
Alain Silberstein Watch Collections
Using
his training as a Parisian architect, since the 1980s Silberstein has created
watches based on the mechanical prototypes made famous by the Swiss. Alain
Silberstein watches all feature glass backs for viewing the world-class
mechanics contained within the timepiece. The designs are wide ranging but
contain consistent elements of fun, color and modernity including use of red,
blue and yellow hour, minute and second hands. Two themes that regularly appear
in Alain Silberstein watches are the moon and love. Displayed either in the
overall watch design or in intricate details.
Technically all Alain Silberstein watches are designed to perfection. For
example the Bolido collection features unique rollers where the watch face meets
the strap, adapting the titanium or steel watches for a perfect fit. Similar
devices for ensuring the watch matches the shape of the wrist feature in other
Alain Silberstein collections.
The
price of Alain Silberstein watches range vastly depending if the watch is part
of a commemorative series. The average price is approximately US$200 but can
range up to US$10000.
