Andreas Strehler Watches

When it comes to custom handcrafted watches, Andreas Strehler exemplifies the trade.  Strehler shares his workshop with his father in Winterthur, Switzerland, and creates technically astute timepieces that are collectors’ items around the world.  Strehler designs his watches using CAD computer software, he then works the machines himself and hand produces every Andreas Strehler watch.  Strehler has even been known to build his own machines to achieve a particular system for making his watches.

On occasion using up to 300 hundred parts, Andreas Strehler painstakingly constructs each timepiece with patience and diligence.  Strehler watches are renowned for their constructions which using only a single set of hands can demonstrate different time constructions.  Andreas Strehler watches use only two hands to tell the four functions of minutes, hours, date and month.  A push button feature switches from minutes and hours to date and month.

Andreas Strehler first became known for his perpetual desk calendar and watch.  Starting as a combined unit the watch powers the calendar and once removed the clock will stop.  When the watch returns to the clock slot then the clock will immediately set back to the correct date including day, month and year.  Andreas Strehler’s idea was to create a stationery tool that was furthermore portable.  The portable part, the Zwei pocket watch, has a mechanical memory that can store up to 21 days of time before being returned to the calendar base.
