Other distinguishing features of Aquanautic watches include a patented propeller second hand along with a crown-locking system guaranteeing an excellent waterproof system. There is also extensive use of diamonds in the Aquanautic watch designs.  Rough, non-conflict diamonds are bought by Aquanautic from around the world. The diamonds are hand picked, cut, cultured, and set to Aquanautic's rigorous specifications. Each diamond is vigilantly examined before going to the workshop. Aquanautic diamonds are guaranteed to be of the highest quality standard (VVS) and are cut using a round, princess, or Aquanautic's patented hexagonal technique.

Aquanautic was launched in 2002 by four watch making experts. Inspired by water, the brand name Aquanautic was chosen and the company location in the historic clock tower in “Place du Molard”.
