Armin Strom’s first watch was
created in 1983. Since this time he has been designing and crafting unique
timepieces. It all began when he outgrew his first job: the restoration of
antique watches. Although the skills he developed were invaluable he wanted to
use knowledge gained to produce his own custom made Armin Strom watches. The
first watch was made of 18 carat gold and contained a perpetual calendar
movement.

Watch Collections
Armin Strom has built a
reputation for building unique watches for the pocket and the wrist that are
hand engraved and modified according to his customer’s individual design ideas.
Additionally Strom creates limited watches such as the Armin Strom Supersport.
Fashioned in 18-carat yellow gold with a chronograph this watch was created
specifically for followers of motor sport. The movement is customized with a
hand engraving that can be viewed through the transparent sapphire glass back.
Armin Strom has worked with
his son Daniel for many years to develop their workshop. Located in Biel, the
workshop utilizes modern equipment to create and test the watch movements.
Other parts of the watch and the finishing touches are hand crafted. In
addition, Daniel has branched out and now makes his own brand of watch in
collaboration with another watchmaker.
Like many other master
watchmakers, Armin Strom watches are exhibited each year at the Basel World
Watch and Jewelry show. It was at one of these shows in 1989 that Armin
exhibited the smallest hand engraved ladies watch that has ever been crafted,
earning him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
