Auguste Reymond Watch Collections The 1970s proved challenging for the company with the introduction of the quartz movements and the subsequent decline of mechanical watches. Auguste Reymond was liquidated. A former manager of Auguste Reymond, James Choffat, bought most of the company's remaining parts and equipment to keep the Auguste Reymond name alive. Nitella purchased the company in 1989 and is also based in Tramelan.
