Beat was born in 1964 in Berne Switzerland and he established his own company in 1991, Haldimann Horology. The workshops are located in Thun, “the City of the Alps” in Bernese Oberland. Each watch takes between three and six months to craft and they are made exclusively for private clients. The central tourbillon H1 "flying" for which Haldimann has become famous was first introduced at the Basel show in 2002. It beats at 18,000 vibrations an hour.
