In 1972 Henri Berney
founded his watch company Berney-Blondeau in the Joux Valley in Switzerland.
The area is also famous for the
Audemars Piguet Company. He
continued to expand business and earned a reputation as a watchmaker with
meticulous craftsmanship. In 1990 Berney purchased another long time Swiss
Brand, Antigone, and in 1998 bought Chandler. In 2000, the founder sought
retirement and the Berney Blondeau company was sold. His family continues to
operate various brands under the name. Testimony to the reputation the brand
upholds, a new watch group called H5 bought Berney-Blondeau along with other
brand names Perrelet, Leroy and Joseph Chevalier.
