Berthet WatchesJoseph Berthet founded the Berthet company in 1888, building the company’s first clock making factory in Charmauvillers in Switzerland. He trained in Des Bois and in 1880 came back to his local town to start a career in making clocks. Together with his brother Edouard and later his children, Joseph steadily built a company that had a solid reputation as makers of fine pocket watches and clocks. In 1952 they built their first modern factory and over the next thirty years grew the clock making industry in Charmauvillers to a formidable size. Almost all of the products with mechanical movements such as regulators, carriage clocks, skeletons and power reserves are produced in the Berthet factory. Berthet has partnered with another Swiss company Fabior Watches to assemble and distribute watches made in sterling silver, gold and platinum.
