Charriol watchesPhilippe Charriol the president and the founder of the Charriol group was born in 1942 in Marseilles, France and studied business and politics at the University of Aix-en-Provence. He had a deep interest in the field of painting, sculpture, metal craft and architecture. Prior to creating his own brand in 1983 he was an executive director in a luxury group renowned for their jewelry and fashion accessories. A reflection of his interests has been clearly reflected in his work and it remains as a driving force behind his talents. His daughter Coralie Charriol on her 20th birthday also decided to join the family business. Like her father she also inherited keen interests in traveling and gemology. She is the present ambassador for the Chariol group. The company has its head office based in Geneva Switzerland, and also in Hong Kong to cover commercial areas in the South East Asia. Having around 2900 retailers the world it has a net annual turn over of US $110. Since the creation of the Brand in 1983 the sales of Chariol have summed up to a total number of 1100000 watches. The first watch launched by the brand name was Celtic, the cable watch inspired by celtic torques. Following that was the second release in 1988, which was named the Christopher COLUMBUS. The St. Tropez line of watches made their debut in the market after that. In the same year the company made yet another break through in the history of watch making by creating an 18 kt gold watch the CELTIC line.
