Heinrich Sattler was a master clock maker of his time in Germany. On March 1904, he was rewarded for his design of a perpetual calendar. He had also a very curious habit of designing clocks for himself exactly the way he wanted them for himself. Years later his grandson Erwin Sattler, perhaps inherited this same passion for complicated and elegant clocks. He was an enthusiastic watchmaker who was motivated to build clocks of highest qualities. His respect for the age old tradition of classical clock making, perfect craftsmanship, innovation and an exquisite elegance in his designs made him popular and led him to found his own company in the name of Erwin Sattler Munchen in 1958.

At present the precision masterpieces of the Erwin Sattler factory are produced in small batches and are renowned the world over for their standard in technical innovation, elegance, and highest quality. The prime focus of the company is to optimize mechanical precision time keepers using high technology, precision, right choice of materials and cutting edge technology. The outcome of such deliberate steps and vigorous efforts in production is that atmospheric influences barely affect the time accuracy.
