Jean-Mairet & Gillman watches has a rich heritage and history in its horologic itinerary. Two families, namely, Mairet and Gillman, with an enriched background in watch making were responsible for the glory of this watch company. In as early as 1766, Jean-Henry Mairet, who lent his name for the watch company, invented a machine device and a 7 shot pistol. His talent followed in the family’s later generations. This master’s creation of an original carriage watch is exhibited in the Musee d’Horlogerie in Le Locle in Switzerland. Continues below... Jean-Mairet & Gillman Watch Collections Another star of the scintillating family was the timepiece maker André Jean-Mairet who thronged the post of the chief of workshops at the Ecole d’Horlogerie in Le Locle. A winner of an astonishing gamut of 119 awards from the Observatoire de Neuchatel for his timepiece fabrication, André set two world records in creating chronometers. The Gillman family, on the other hand was imbued with scientists who were globe-trotters in the Victorian time. The Gillman family lineage had the famous Miss Caroline Bovet de Fleurier. The blood of these two renowned families was transfused in Cesar Jean Mairet who also took, not unpremeditatedly, the ‘opulent’ heritage of his family. Cesar
