Marvin Watches

Marvin blossomed in Saint Imier in the Bernese Jura Mountains in 1850 out of the ideas of the two bothers Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim, both watchmakers and an American collector of timepieces. Though the factory of Marvin watch brand was in the Swiss mountains, the principal market for its sales is the US.

Primarily, Marvin brand started its endeavor crafting specially pocket watches for men and jewel-like watches for women. These jewel like timepieces were interestingly and intelligently set on rings, necklaces or jewelry pins giving the pieces of jewelry a new look. Not to forget though that these Marvin watches were exclusively crafted for an aristocratic class.

But the mass caught the imagination of Marvin watch house from 1910. The plant fabricated some watches with simple and dainty designs with precision of the highest quality. 20 years later, in the 1930s the art world was rejuvenated by the novel artistic movements like cubism, modernism and futurism. Marvin watches did not lag behind in its designs and look. Novel lines of watches were created which displayed these revolutionary movements.

Marvin was verily a symbol of avant-gardism. The prejudiced minds of men criticized left-handedness. Marvin watches protested by crafting a whole line keeping in mind the south-paws.

The 1940s was a golden period in the history of Marvin. The company was ameliorating quickly and managed to grasp meaty alliances with Ferrari, Chevrolet, Mercedes, Fiat, Royal Dutch Airlines and many others.

A favorite among the celebrities like formula 1 drivers Fangio, Ascari, Marvin watches are ceaseless in glamorizing the mortal wrist.
