Quinting stands for transparency. The watch brand became
the pioneer in making a completely transparent timepiece after years of research
and study. Making a wristwatch totally transparent was an intriguing invention
which could not be accomplished by any other watchmakers of the industry. But
Quinting watches was able to develop such an apparently impossible task after 7
years of experimentation and examination. The men who had done the eureka were
the pertinacious René Quinting, an automotive engineer by profession and his
assistants, the two Swiss engineers namely Norbert Perucchi and Willy Cleusix.
Perucchi was the one to develop the concept while Cleusix aided in the
structural design.

The proprietorship of Quinting watches was changed in the
month of September of 2000 when the fast growing enterprise was bought by Pascal
Berclaz. Berclaz, an economist and an electronics engineer with a penchant for
discovering the terra incognita of the timepiece technology, invested 2million
Swiss francs in the company. His passion for creating complicated and top
quality watches came true when the Mystery Watch was born.
The Mystery Watch was somewhat a petit piece of conundrum.
Eleven sapphire crystals that are meticulously metallized and are subjected to
an anti-reflection coating for making them transparent, adorn the bosom of the
timepiece. The crystals are of two categories - moving and fixed. The moving
crystals are equipped with a toothed outer rim and a shaft at the center making
them transparent wheels. These six moving crystals are the harbingers of motion
of the chronograph’s hands.
Quinting watches, literally, are synonymous with
transparency.
