Rainer Nienaber watches were founded by Rainer Nienaber himself, who began his career as a specialized toolmaker, working with precision measuring equipment. In 1982, Rainer opened a watch repair shop in Bünde, Germany and quickly developed a talent for both wristwatches and mechanical clocks.
As business expanded, Rainer opened his first retail store in 1984, and focused on the production of clocks, but it was only a matter of time before his talents with timepieces became known by collectors around the world.
His reputation as a master clockmaker earned Rainer the highest honor from his peers in 1993 when he was inducted into the AHCI, and soon thereafter that he turned his attention toward the design and production of a collection of Rainer Nienaber wristwatches. He focused his attention to produce a series of wristwatches with King Size dates and numbers, and experimented with complicated movements.
Today, Rainer Nienaber produces both mechanical clocks and a fine collection of luxury wristwatches in limited editions. Over the past years, he has developed a unique line of Rainer Nienaber wristwatches, including sports models, elegant retrograde designs, and watches using vintage movements. The latest creation of Rainer Nienaber watches are a beautiful retrograde-regulator watch called Retrolator which was unveiled at Basle 2004.
