Roland has a distinguished background in luxury timepieces, and is a 1986 graduate of the famous WOSTEP program in Switzerland, having previously studied watchmaking at Bowman school in Lancaster, PA. His dream was to create his own high-quality complicated watches. In the late 1980s, Roland was working in product development for a large Swiss watch company and became inspired to create his own line after growing disillusioned with big watch corporations churning out mediocre watches. He desired to make custom-built watches because not many brands exist today that will make a single watch, or even a small series on the demand of a customer.
Roland debuted RGM watches in 1993 to rave reviews, and is admired and respected among the most well-known watch brands in the world among serious watch connoisseurs.
