S.T. Dupont Watches

The S.T. Dupont watches company was set up by Simon Tissot-Dupont from Savoy. Simon started his business endeavor in 1872 commencing with a carriage company that was unfortunately annihilated in a fire. But the man of intrepid mettle bought a leather atelier in the misfortunate year to craft briefcases for professionals.

Roughly ten years after, Simon started to supply his products in the gigantic shop, Les Grands Magasins de Louvre. 1919 saw the stepping of Simon’s two sons, André and Lucien in their father’s shoes. They modified the brand’s name into Les Fils de S.T. Dupont and invigorated the company with a novel zest to make top grade travel accessories and cases. The atelier grew enormously with 250 workers including woodworkers, engravers, leather craftsmen, goldsmiths. The products were used by an elite group of clientele - kings, ambassadors, emperors, maharajas.

Lucien was even welcomed by Louis Cartier in their shop at 5th avenue, New York. In the 1950s the company started to develop luxurious gas lighters which succeeded in alluring the smokers and also the non-smokers. Two decades later, the ball-point pen was born in S.T. Dupont manufacture which cut an indelible mark for the company.

The S.T. Dupont watches appeared in the scenario of S.T. Dupont only in the 1980s. As the philosophy of the company says-creating classic converging with contemporariness, the timepieces for men were elegant made of gold and lacquer.2001 was elated to receive another marvelous watch line from the house OF S.T.
