Perhaps the most well known watch brand in the world, the Swatch watch has achieved great success in a relatively short history. The Swatch watch was launched in 1983. Swatches watches were always perceived as a trendy watch using good quality plastics, funky designs for every outfit and a certain sporty quality. Since then Swatch has expanded to include dress watch designs. As a business the company has brought several famous brands under its corporate umbrella. Swatch operates a total of 156 production centers.

Swatch watches are now available in low, medium and high end price ranges and there are also a large collection of private label watches produced by Swatch. The branding for Swatch has remained strong over the years and the colorful, simple designs are also updated to reflect the latest fashion trends. Some designs include chronometers, and others are interesting with clear plastics used to show off the wrist as well as the workings of the watch.
