The company began in 1837 by two businessmen, Charles Lewis Tiffany and Charles B Young and was originally called Tiffany & Young. Tiffany & Co has a long history and is firmly entrenched with American history. For the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln, Tiffany & Co produced a special pitcher for the ceremony. Later in 1885, the company redesigned the seal for the United States of America, this seal can still today be seen on the one dollar bill. Over the years Tiffany has been involved in designed many items of great importance to the history of America including crockery for the white house featuring 50 birds of America.

Legendary motifs like the use of roman numerals on the bezel are shown on the Atlas collection. Other collections like the Tiffany Grand utilize simple design with clean lines, high quality materials and a standard rectangular face. The Tiffany Mark collection features traditional watch dials and high quality platinum, gold and stainless steel. There are seven different engines in the Mark collection, all of pure Swiss Pedigree.
