Vacheron Constantin Watches
The story of the watch brand Vacheron Constantin (which is now under the ownership of Richemont Group) goes back to as far as in the middle of the eighteenth century when the young but skilled in watch making, Jean-marc Vacheron inaugurated his atelier. That workshop stood the test of time and has now become one of the adorable watch making companies of all time.
The first complicated Vacheron Constantin watches were manufactured in that atelier in the year of 1770. The first-ever awesome six quarter-repeater chronographs which struck the hours and the quarters on request were produced in 1812.
The name of the atelier of Vacheron was changed into ‘Vacheron et Constantin’ when in 1819, Jaques-Barthelemy, the grandson of Jean-Marc Vacheron collaborated with François Constantin.
The watch company had a bit of role in the historical aviation episode of the Wright Brothers. The famous Wright Brothers needed reliable and durable timepieces for their experiments on soaring high. And they chose Vacheron Constantin watches.
Numerous awards were vested on the old and esteemed watch company, which include the respectable gold medal at the Swiss National Exhibition of Geneva held in 1896 for the outstanding performances of the watch brand. In 1972, the company was awarded the prestigious ‘Diplome du prestige de la France’ for fabricating a marvelous and innovative wristwatch.
