Vincent Calabrese WatchesThe self-taught watchmaker Vincent Calabrese, the founder of his namesake watch company, is a prolific professional who is amazingly skilled in the art of timepiece making. He belongs to that exclusive group of chronograph creators who are able to make a whole watch, from its apparent shape to its implicit complicated movement, completely by hand. Not only are the Vincent Calabrese watches created by this genius conventionally made of gold (18K) but he also manufactures the chronograph movements in 950 platinum. He is perhaps the world’s only watch maker possessing the caliber to do so. The Vincent Calabrese watches collections are the creations of innovative techniques, original ideas and meticulous hands. In 1977 the maestro invented the world-acclaimed ‘spatiales’ of Vincent Calabrese watches which was characterized by an indigenous movement literally in all shapes, marked with the initial of the possessor and with hordes of symbols and the geographical outline of some countries. This spectacular creation was inundated with awards, notably the gold medal at the international inventor’s show in Geneva. The invincible ‘esprit’ timepiece won the trophy of Manuel Gutierrez in 1986. In 1989, the ‘baladin’ was ‘garlanded’ with silver medal again at the international inventors show in Geneva. |
