Wittnauer WatchesThe creator of the Wittnauer watches was an expert chronograph maker named Albert Wittnauer who had Swiss blood in his veins. This master craftsman of watches landed on the soil of New York from his native country Switzerland in the year 1872 as an adolescent boy aged 16. He commenced working in the workshop of his brother-in-law who was an importer of high-class Swiss watches. In the process, Wittnauer soon realized that there was a necessity of exclusivity and creativity in designing the timepieces for the promising watch market of the US. Continues below... Wittnauer Watch Collections The vision took realization in 1880 when young Wittnauer created a watch brand named after him. The Wittnauer watches were fabricated in the Swiss capital, Geneva for meeting all the demands made by the professional inhabitants of the US. The watches created by this brand were so functional that they immediately became the darlings of professionals such as astronomers, explorers, navigators and geographers. The watch company also takes pride in the fact that its timepiece has accompanied the polar aviator, Commander Richard E. Byrd traveling both the Arctic and the Antarctica. In 1918, Wittnauer Watch Company made history in the watch making industry by inventing the world’s premier shock-proof, waterproof and anti-magnetic watch which has proved its worth by getting dropped from the Empire State building and airplanes or countering the hard weather and ambience of the grand Himalayas and the verdurous Amazon. Wittnauer watches stimulate the senses in quest for an inexplicable pleasure. Their every detail shows the American essence juxtaposed with the Swiss sensuality.
